Wildcat Highlights: The Top Ten of 2024-25
#8 – Rivalry, Spirit, and School Pride: Powder Puff Football
Coming in at #8 on our Wildcat Highlights: The Top Ten of 2024-25 countdown is one of the most high-energy, laughter-filled, and community-driven events of the year—our annual Powder Puff Football Game!
Held under the lights at the SJA Turf Complex, the event featured a lively, multi-team flag football showdown with freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior girls all taking the field in spirited competition. With bragging rights on the line, the games were full of memorable moments, friendly rivalries, and nonstop school spirit.
The crowd was treated to standout performances from players like Alaina Dorsey (Class of 2026) and Nora Devlin (Class of 2028), who both delivered big plays and high energy throughout the night. But in the end, it was the junior girls who came out on top—taking home the championship with a strong showing on both sides of the ball.
Adding to the night’s excitement were the phenomenal performances by both of our Men’s Cheer Squads, who lit up the sidelines with creative chants, dance routines, and crowd-pleasing humor. Their presence added another layer of fun and school pride, making the night one to remember.
This event wasn’t about weeks of practice or perfect execution—it was about spirit, connection, and creating joyful memories as a community. Students from all grades came out to participate, support their friends, and celebrate what it means to be a Wildcat.
Mr. Stephen Cappuccio, Head of School, shared,
“The Powder Puff Game is one of those events that reminds us why high school is so special. It builds connection, showcases leadership, and gives our students a chance to just enjoy being a part of something bigger than themselves. Events like this are at the heart of our school culture.”
With the lights on and smiles on every face, Powder Puff was a true highlight of the year—and a reminder that the best memories often come from simply showing up and having fun together.
