NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY 

The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 “to recognize and foster academic achievement while  developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy” ( NHS Handbook).  The purpose of the Saint Joseph Academy Fr. Mychal Judge, O.F.M. Chapter of the National Honor Society is to create  enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop  character. Our chapter has as its model Fr. Mychal Judge, O.F.M., a Franciscan Friar Minor, who was chaplain to  the New York City Fire Department, Engine Company 1. Fr. Mychal was the first fatality of the  World Trade Center attack.  

Student Government gives students a voice in school life, planning events, promoting spirit, and building leadership while strengthening our community.

Our Performing Arts club is a vibrant and creative hub where talented individuals come together to showcase their talents in theater, dance, music, and more. Through rehearsals, productions, and collaborative performances, we foster artistic expression and a strong sense of community among our members.

Yearbook club is dedicated to capturing the memories and essence of our school year, ensuring that every moment is preserved for generations to come. With a keen eye for detail and creative design, we work together to produce a beautiful and memorable yearbook that encapsulates the spirit of our school.

Chess club is a place where strategic minds come together to engage in intellectual battles on the chessboard. We promote critical thinking, sportsmanship, and a love for this timeless game through regular practice and friendly competitions among our members.

-Active Minds is a nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking.

Through active participation, understand how the power of kindness can not only help
others, but also help you develop a sense of community, happiness and gratitude that will
serve as a guiding force in your life.

Women in Leadership and Develop empowers young women to grow as leaders, build confidence, and develop skills for success in school, careers, and life.

The Paw Print is SJA’s student-run newspaper, covering school events, student voices, and community stories while giving students hands-on experience in journalism and writing

Key Club is a student-led service organization that builds leadership through serving others, with projects that support both our school and the wider community.

Cat’s Café gives students hands-on experience in business and entrepreneurship by running a school-based café, building skills in management, marketing, and customer service.

The Emmaus Society is a faith-based club where students come together for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, supporting one another in spiritual growth.

STEM Club inspires curiosity and innovation through hands-on projects in science, technology, engineering, and math, helping students explore problem-solving and real-world applications.
