St. Joseph Academy Names Hall of Fame Coach Ronn Flaim to Lead Track & Field and Join Football Staff

Hammonton, NJ — April 27, 2026 — St. Joseph Academy is proud to announce the hiring of Hall of Fame, multi-sport coach Mr. Ronn Flaim, who will serve as the Head Coach of Indoor Track and Spring Track & Field and Assistant Football Coach for the Wildcats beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

Coach Flaim brings more than 30 years of teaching and coaching experience across Buena Regional School District, Egg Harbor Township School District, and Delsea Regional School District, where he served as a Special Education teacher, Assistant Football Coach, and Head Track & Field Coach.

From 2002 to 2026, Coach Flaim led the track and field program at Delsea, building one of the most consistent and successful programs in New Jersey. His teams captured 12 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championships and 16 Sectional Championships, earned six #1 rankings in South Jersey, and produced nine Meet of Champions winners along with 57 placewinners.

As an assistant football coach at Delsea, Flaim contributed to 11 NJSIAA Sectional Championships and one State Championship, while helping develop 12 All-State / All–South Jersey linemen. His experience also includes coaching in the 2003 New Jersey/New York Governor’s Bowl and the 2004 Adam Taliaferro Rotary Bowl South Jersey All-Star Game.

Individually, Flaim’s career has been widely recognized. In track and field, he is a 10-time South Jersey Track Coaches Association Coach of the Year, a four-time New Jersey State Coach of the Year, a 2023 National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Coach of the Year finalist, and a recipient of the 2010 NJSIAA Service Award. In football, he was inducted into the New Jersey Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2021 as an assistant coach and was named the 2024 National Football Foundation South Jersey Chapter Assistant Coach of the Year. He was also inducted into the Delsea Regional Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.

“Ronn’s résumé is elite, but what matters most is how he builds programs,” said Mr. Stephen Cappuccio, Head of School. “He develops student-athletes, sets a standard, and sustains it. That aligns directly with who we are and where we are going.”

Chuck Donohue Jr., Athletic Director, added:
“Ronn’s teams reflect him—tough, disciplined, and prepared. He understands what it takes to build a championship culture, and more importantly, how to do it the right way. Our students are gaining a coach who will challenge them and invest in them.”

Coach Flaim said, “I’m excited for the opportunity to join St. Joseph Academy. There’s a strong foundation here, and I’m looking forward to building on it—developing athletes, competing at a high level, and doing things the right way.”

Flaim is the father of two sons, Ronald (22) and AJ (20).

This hire reflects St. Joseph Academy’s continued investment in high-level coaching and student-athlete development, grounded in its mission of Faith, Family, and Future.
