St. Joseph Academy Continues to Grow: Building on Our Momentum
St. Joseph Academy is proud to begin another school year with continued growth across our Wildcat community. What began with 140 students in 2022 has grown to 263 students in 2026, representing an 87.86% increase in enrollment in just four years.
That growth has not happened in a single year. It has been consistent:
2022: 140 students
2023: 166 students
2024: 194 students
2025: 219 students
2026: 263 students
This year, SJA welcomed its largest student body during this period, growing more than 20% from 2025 to 2026. In total, St. Joseph Academy now serves 123 more students than it did just four years ago.
For our school, those numbers represent something much larger than enrollment. They demonstrate growing confidence in St. Joseph Academy and in the education, community, and opportunities we provide to families throughout South Jersey.
Growth With a Purpose
As enrollment has increased, St. Joseph Academy has remained focused on ensuring that growth strengthens the student experience.
Our goal is not simply to become a larger school. It is to create more opportunities for students while maintaining the personal relationships and sense of community that distinguish an SJA education.
Over the past several years, that commitment has included the continued development of our academic programs, expansion of extracurricular and athletic opportunities, investment in our facilities, and the introduction and growth of our Middle School program.
The addition of the Middle School represents an important part of SJA's long-term vision. By creating an opportunity for students to become part of the Wildcat community earlier in their educational journey, we can provide greater continuity academically, socially, and spiritually while establishing a stronger foundation for their transition into high school.
Investing in the Student Experience
Enrollment growth also creates an opportunity—and a responsibility—to continue investing in the resources available to our students.
The acquisition of the Wildcat Sports Center represents one example of that investment. The 30,000-square-foot facility provides additional space for athletics, training, school programming, and community events while expanding what SJA can offer students throughout the year.
Our continued growth also allows us to strengthen programs beyond athletics. As the student body expands, so does the potential for additional academic offerings, student organizations, leadership opportunities, arts programming, and extracurricular activities.
Ultimately, enrollment growth should translate into a stronger educational experience. That will continue to guide the decisions we make moving forward.
Expanding SJA's Reach
One of our priorities for the coming years is to introduce St. Joseph Academy to more families throughout South Jersey.
Our admissions efforts will continue to emphasize opportunities for prospective students and families to experience SJA firsthand through Discovery Nights, Middle School events, campus visits, our Walk With a Wildcat shadow program, scholarship opportunities, and other admissions programming.
We also recognize that accessibility is an important part of responsible growth. St. Joseph Academy will continue its commitment to scholarship and financial assistance opportunities designed to make an SJA education attainable for families from a variety of backgrounds and communities.
At the same time, we will continue strengthening relationships with local schools, youth organizations, community partners, alumni, and current SJA families. Sustainable enrollment growth is built through relationships and through families sharing their experiences with others.
Preserving What Makes SJA Different
Growth brings change, but there are parts of St. Joseph Academy that should never change.
Students should continue to walk into a school where teachers and administrators know who they are. Families should feel connected to their school community. Students should have opportunities to participate, lead, compete, perform, serve, and discover where their interests can take them.
Maintaining that environment will remain a priority as enrollment increases.
The strength of SJA has always been its people. Our faculty and staff invest personally in our students, our families support one another, our alumni remain connected to the school, and our students take pride in representing St. Joseph Academy.
That culture cannot be measured on an enrollment chart, but it is one of the primary reasons the chart continues moving upward.
Our Alumni Remain Part of the Story
As we look toward SJA's future, we also recognize the generations of students, families, educators, coaches, and supporters who built the foundation that makes today's growth possible.
Our alumni remain an important connection between the school's history and its future. They understand what an SJA education can mean because they experienced it themselves.
As our community expands, we want our alumni to remain connected—not simply as former students, but as active members of the Wildcat family. Sharing SJA's story, attending events, supporting school initiatives, connecting prospective families with our admissions team, and staying involved with the school all contribute to the momentum we are building.
Today's students are becoming part of the same tradition that generations of SJA graduates helped establish.
The Next Chapter
Reaching 263 students is a milestone, not a finish line.
Our next chapter will focus on continuing to grow responsibly while strengthening the programs, facilities, resources, and opportunities available to every student who walks through our doors.
We will continue building our Middle School program. We will continue investing in academics and student life. We will continue expanding opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom. We will continue reaching new families and communities throughout South Jersey.
Most importantly, we will continue making decisions with the same question in mind: How does this make the St. Joseph Academy experience better for our students?
Four years ago, St. Joseph Academy enrolled 140 students.
Today, 263 students call SJA home—an increase of nearly 88%.
We are proud of that progress. We are grateful to everyone who helped make it possible. And we believe there is still tremendous opportunity ahead.
The school is growing, but the foundation remains the same.
Faith. Family. Future.
