Joshua Mitchell ’25 Balances Senior Year and EMT Training — and Passes with Flying Colors
At St. Joseph Academy, we often talk about the importance of hard work, leadership, and service to others. Few students have lived out those values as impressively as Joshua Mitchell, Class of 2025, who recently passed the National EMT Certification Exam and is now officially employed by Hamilton Township Rescue.
What makes Joshua’s accomplishment stand out is not just the end result—but the extraordinary commitment it took to get there. Over the course of four months, Joshua completed an intensive EMT training circuit that included classroom instruction, hands-on skills labs, and field experience. He did all of this while remaining a full-time student at St. Joseph Academy, balancing AP courses, extracurricular activities, and the responsibilities of senior year.
“Joshua’s achievement is truly remarkable,” said Mr. Stephen Cappuccio, Head of School. “To take on a demanding professional certification program while still in high school—and succeed—speaks volumes about his drive, maturity, and character. He’s a perfect example of what it means to be a St. Joseph Academy student: someone who leads with purpose, prepares with intention, and serves with heart.”
Joshua’s certification means he is now nationally recognized as an Emergency Medical Technician, capable of providing life-saving care in critical situations. As part of the Hamilton Township Rescue team, he’s already begun applying his training in real-world emergency response, directly impacting lives in his community.
Whether it’s in the classroom or in the field, Joshua approaches each challenge with grit and compassion. His story is a reminder to all of us—students and adults alike—that when passion meets perseverance, the possibilities are endless.
Congratulations, Joshua. You continue to make the Wildcat community proud.
